Claude Motion is Anthropic's built-in animation feature: you prompt in a Claude chat, edit in its editor and export an MP4, but it is in beta on Team and Enterprise plans only. Claude Code with HyperFrames or Remotion works on individual paid plans too, gives you the source files, and renders MP4s on your own computer, at the cost of a little setup.
Source for Claude Motion facts: Anthropic's help article "Get started with Claude Motion" (support.claude.com, read on 3 Nov 2026). It says Motion is "available in beta on Team and Enterprise plans", on by default for Team and off by default for Enterprise until an owner enables it. Claude builds each animation as code and Motion "doesn't use a video generation model". You edit by chatting or in the editor, export as MP4, and longer or more complex animations use more of your usage limit. Anthropic launched it on 8 Oct 2026.
Claude Code takes the same idea further into files you own. A HyperFrames scene is an HTML file with a GSAP timeline; Remotion is React components. You can version it, reuse it across a series, drop in your own footage and audio, and render as many MP4s as you like locally. That suits creators and teams making many videos, or anyone not on a Team or Enterprise plan.
For a small business making a couple of promo videos a month, Motion is the shorter path if you already have a Team plan. For short-form creators who need volume and a consistent look, Claude Code plus a library of finished scenes is usually faster per video after the first one, and gives more control over polish.

If you are on a Team or Enterprise plan, open Claude Motion from a chat and try a short explainer. If you are on an individual plan, use Claude Code.
Pull a scene into a folder with the Scenes skill (see Docs), or paste its prompt into Claude Code.
node ~/.claude/skills/scenes-library/pull.mjs marketing-explainer my-sceneAsk for your words, data, colours and length. Claude Code edits the HTML and timeline.
HyperFrames renders the MP4 on your own computer, free, as often as you like. You need Node.js installed. Check first: it reports anything off-frame or broken.

No. Anthropic says it builds animations as code and does not use a video generation model, so it does not create realistic footage or people.
Motion is quickest for a one-off inside a chat. Claude Code gives more control and is faster across a series once you have scenes to reuse.
Claude Design is aimed at designs and slides. For animated graphics in YouTube edits, a motion tool that exports MP4 at your frame size, such as HyperFrames in Claude Code, fits better.
Browsing and previewing every scene is free, and free accounts copy 2 scenes a day. The render is free because HyperFrames makes the MP4 on your own computer, with no watermark on the video.
